"Final battle" version of the battleship Yamato, from Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors Of Love anime series, aka Star Blazers 2202.
It's a 1:1000 scale (33.3cm long) snap-fit model kit by Bandai, requiring assembly without glue. Parts are molded in color.
This beautiful 2019 edition features some differences compared to the previous one from 2017:
- new molds (there are parts which allow you to build it in standard version or final battle version, as you wish!);
- it can still accomodate 2x blue LED units (for the main tower and the wave cannon) and 1x double white LED unit (for the rear verniers), but all 3 LED units are sold separately;
- the mini-model of the destroyer Yuunagi isn't included;
- the display base, 4 fighters (2x Cosmo Tiger II and 2x Cosmo Tiger II "Three-seater"), water slide decals and stickers are still there;
- moreover, it comes with an Action Base 1 stand, which you can use alternatively to the standard base to display the Yamato in dynamic poses!
It's recommended to use hobby nippers to properly detach the components from the runners.
All parts snap together without need for glue, making the building process easier and faster than that of more "conventional" models, even for beginners.
Pieces are molded in separate colors, so it looks great even after a simple straight build.
However, you can paint it employing proper colors and your favorite techniques (Gundam Markers, brush, airbrush and/or spray cans).
