EVA Unit 01 Test Type, taken from the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV series.
This is a snap-fit model kit requiring assembly. Pieces are molded in color and there's no need for glue.
It's part of the "Limited Model - High Grade" product line by Bandai, which features models quite easy and quick to build (hence the name similar to that of HG gunpla models).
This EVA-01 can be considered a "deluxe edition" compared to the first one released in the same line. In fact, it comes with a "launch pad" (its lift/hangar), an optional head (without armor) and a partially different set of weapons.
The latter includes Pallet Gun, Progressive Knife, N² bomb, bazooka, Magoroku Exterminate Sword and Counter Sword (both unsheathed and with sheath, which you can attach to the EVA shoulders).
It features also interchangeable hands, Entry Plug, Umbilical Cable, optional emergency battery packs (which you can attach to its shoulders), stickers and non-painted figurines of Shinji Ikari, in school uniform, and of his mother Yui Ikari.
Once built, this model stands about 25 cm tall and is detailed and posable.
Arms are pre-assembled and elbows are partially articulated (the actual articulation is covered by a flexible seamless part).
It's recommended to use hobby nippers to properly detach the components from the plastic trays.
All parts snap together without need for glue, making the building process easier and faster than that of more "conventional" models, even for beginners.
Pieces are molded in separate colors, so it looks great even after a simple straight build.
But if you'd like to have it with exactly the same details from the anime, you'll have to paint it using proper colors (not included) and your favorite techniques: Gundam Markers, brush, airbrush and/or spray cans.
