Bandai 1/72 scale model kit of the glorious X-Wing Starfighter, identical to the one piloted by Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars saga!
This is a snap-fit model kit requiring assembly, just like a gunpla: there's no need for glue and parts are molded in color.
Once assembled, it's approx. 17.3cm long, has a wingspan of approx. 16cm and is highly detailed.
Features:
- a display stand with a base modeled after the Death Star's surface and a part representing the exhaust vent leading to the reactor core (its weak point);
- 2x effect parts that simulate torpedoes fired inside the vent;
- 2x non-painted figurines of the pilot (standing and sitting inside the cockpit);
- non-painted figurines of droids R2-D2 and R5-D4, which can be inserted alternately into the designated slot behind the cockpit;
- folding wings, as seen in the films, for the iconic X configuration;
- 2x slightly different noses to choose from, depending on whether you want to build a generic X-Wing or Luke Skywalker's specific one;
- 2x different canopies to choose from: one complete (with the "windows") and one consisting of just the frame (without the "windows") for a better view of the cockpit;
- optional landing gear;
- stickers and water slide decals.
Stickers and decals in this case are identical, so you can choose depending on your preference.
The small print on the lid of the box may vary between English and Japanese, but it's still the same model kit.
This is not a toy for children.
The assembled model looks fine even without painting, but it can also be painted and weathered using your favorite techniques and products suitable for that purpose. Just be careful not to use enamels and lacquers in direct contact with plastic components, as the latter could become brittle.
It's recommended to use a hobby nipper to properly detach the parts from the runners.
